About

Former dancer-actor-model turned producer-director-editor-writer. And now, executive producer for creative companies servicing clients in entertainment and advertising.

My work behind the camera all started when I was cast to act in a short film, and then quickly un-cast when they realized that I am SAG-AFTRA. Instead of sulking, I made my own short film with my boyfriend at the time and his Canon 5D , Zoom recorder, and Adobe Premiere.

Before I knew it, I was sleeping under a pile of film books (like Sidney Lumet’s Making Movies), winning awards at the 48-Hour Film Festival, producing music videos and commercial spots, editing a global Adidas spot with the CCO of Chiat \ Day over my shoulder, running around Skywalker Ranch with Disney producers, teaching in the film program at the School of Visual Arts, and saying “action” to Chris Hemsworth on a soundstage at Universal Studios.

In the photo to the left I was running around the US producing and directing doc-style portrait pieces for Thrivent Financial, wedged between the cameras and combo stands in the back of an SUV with a broken AC, while enduring the humidity of a nearby hurricane. Ah, the run-and-gun life. For those shoots I produced, ran audio with a boom and a zoom, and directed. Most importantly, I heard people’s stories, brought them tissues, gave hugs, and learned some of the most valuable life lessons. We’re only given one life, run toward what you love (your heart knows the way). I love to tell stories.

I have a lot of titles. My favorite title of them all, however, is mom. One child is serving in the US Air Force, and the other studies environmental science. My last name, pronounced Stran-Yord, is Norwegian and it means "Beach Land".
