Disney had just purchased Lucasfilm, JJ Abrams was set as director, the biggest film release in decades was eminent, and Lucasfilm needed to generate enormous buzz without sharing details of The Force Awakens. The plan was to create compelling new digital marketing content to help stoke fan anticipation.
Together with Lucasfilm and Disney, we created 2 six-part series based on episodes I – VI, titled "Star Wars: Conversations" and "Star Wars: Discoveries From Inside", and filmed on location at the fabled Skywalker Ranch.
In the end, the pieces were watched and approved by Bob Iger and Kathleen Kennedy, which added a little pressure to the process. Picked up by every major entertainment news outlet, Star Wars: Conversations and Star Wars: Discoveries From Inside were shared by millions of fans around the world, and was included in the DVD/Blu-Ray releases of Star Wars I – VII.
On the vendor side, I served as senior producer responsible for pre-production, production, post production and delivery of all 12 parts in this series, collaborating with and reporting to the producers in the home entertainment department at Disney.
